Transformers, tank farms, and chemical processing areas require specialized fire protection that standard sprinkler systems cannot provide. Deluge systems use open nozzles and rapid water or foam discharge activated by heat, smoke, flame detection, or manual intervention. Rachna Fire & Safety designs and installs deluge systems for transformer yards, oil storage facilities, and industrial high-hazard zones across Kutch and Gujarat.
How Deluge Systems Work
Unlike closed-head sprinklers, deluge systems have open spray nozzles and a closed deluge valve. When fire detection triggers—or an operator activates the system—the deluge valve opens and water or foam discharges simultaneously from all nozzles in the protected zone, providing rapid coverage for intense fires.
Release Mechanisms
- Electrical release via fire alarm panel
- Pneumatic release using pilot line detection
- Hydraulic release through sprinkler bulb pilot lines
- Manual emergency release stations
Protection Objectives
- Fire extinguishment in high-hazard zones
- Fire control and burning limitation
- Exposure cooling for adjacent equipment
- Prevention of fire spread to tank farms
Kutch Industrial Applications
We protect substations, port power infrastructure, salt plant electrical yards, and chemical storage facilities throughout Kutch district with engineered deluge and water spray systems designed per NFPA 15 and IS standards.
