Every fire pump installation with electric main pump, diesel standby, and jockey pump requires operator-visible status indication. PSIP is the standard visual interface specified in NBC-compliant pump houses and fire control rooms across Gujarat.

Technical Specifications

PSIP displays use LED indicators with clear text labels for each monitored condition. Standard indication points include: main electric pump (running/auto/trip), diesel engine pump (running/auto/fault), jockey pump (running/auto), normal power supply, emergency power supply, tank low water level, and controller fault summary.

Enclosure rating IP 42 minimum for pump house mounting; IP 54 for outdoor or humid coastal Mundra installations. Panel size typically 300 × 400 mm to 600 × 800 mm depending on number of indication points and optional features.

Power supply from fire alarm panel 24 V DC or dedicated 230 V AC with battery backup for fire control room installations. Pump house mounted PSIP typically uses 230 V AC supply from pump house distribution board.

Integration and Selection Guidance

PSIP connects to fire pump controller auxiliary contacts — each contact wired to the corresponding indicator on the panel. Correct wiring during pump controller commissioning is essential; miswired contacts show false status that misleads operators during emergencies.

Optional integration with the fire alarm panel enables remote monitoring of pump status at the building management station. Fault and running conditions can annunciate on the fire alarm panel display and transmit to remote monitoring stations.

Select PSIP compatible with your pump controller make — Cet, Kirloskar, Grundfos, and other common fire pump controllers have different auxiliary contact configurations. We supply PSIP pre-configured for your controller or provide wiring diagrams for site integration.

Supply and Installation

Rachna Fire & Safety supplies PSIP as part of fire pump EPC packages and as standalone units for retrofit on existing pump installations. We mount and wire PSIP during pump commissioning, verifying each indication against actual pump operation.

Include PSIP in your fire pump BOQ — it is a low-cost component that fire officers routinely check during NOC inspection. Missing or non-functional PSIP is a common minor deficiency delaying approval.
